Knifophia seeds, also called "Red Hot Poker" plant.  A South African native plant with broad grass like foliage.  Perennial in the Pacific Northwest, foliage green most of the year but may die back to the ground during harder PNW frosts, for example temperatures dropping down to teens F.  Flowers usually bright orange, sometimes salmon tinted, sometimes more yellow.  Flowers similar to those of some aloe species, and in fact knifophia shares a number of similarities with aloes in the shape and style of its flower racemes, whorls of leaves, and yellow-tinted roots.  Little or no water needed once established.  Good along paths or further back in flower beds, or in rows along a fence.
